PROJECT UPDATE!!!!!!!!
-Since everyone has been having such a difficulty submitting the video to me by email. I would recommend putting it on youtube and then sending me the link in my email. Don't forget your video must have BOTH directions on how to make a histogram by hand and on a graphing calculator. Good luck filming and hope you're having a great weekend!

Thursday, September 24th
-Students reviewed how to make a histogram by hand for a warm-up
-Students then learned how to make one on the calculator
-Students were introduced to their second project of the week....the details and guidelines can be found on discovery education on the histogram, box plots page that I assigned the students for their assignments
-The Fast Food Stat Video Project is due Tuesday!
-The video is due Tuesday morning before school starts.....should be emailed to me
-The histogram and frequency table is due when you walk into class on Tuesday!
Here are the guidelines for the mini-project assigned on Tuesday:
-Students will pick some sort of quantitative value to measure
-They need at least 20 data points
-They will then create a data chart to show all the individual data points
-They will create a box plot, histogram, or dot plot to graph the data (all things must be labeled!)
-Students will then explain and describe the center, shape, spread, outliers, mean, median, mode, and range of the data in PARAGRAPH form
-They must also make a conclusion based on the data and make some kind of statement about the data
Rubric (NOTE: make sure that the characteristic is NOT categorical! see me if you have any questions about it! You will lose a majority of your points if it is not quantitative):
-5 points - Prepared (turned in on time, with name, at least 20 data points listed)
-5 points -Neatness (is it creative?, was there time put into it?, can I read everything clearly?)
-20 points - Description (are mean, median, mode, range, and outliers calculated right? is it all in paragraph form?)
-15 points - Distribution (what is the shape? is it skewed? where would the center be about? is this all in paragraph form?)
-5 points - Conclusion (is some sort of statement made about what the data tells us?)
NOTE: The descriptions should read like a conversation. It should flow like you were talking to me about your data.
